After waiting a couple extra weeks to play their home opener, the Red Deer Riggers waited a few more innings before bringing their vaunted offence to Great Chief Park.
The Riggers fell behind 7-0 before storming back to edge the Sherwood Park Athletics 11-9 in Sunburst Baseball League action Tuesday night.
Jaret Chatwood sparked the comeback with a two-run homer in the bottom of the fourth, part of a seven-run Red Deer rally in the inning.
Chatwood finished with three hits on the night, ending up a triple shy of hitting for the cycle.
J.P. Willner and Shayne Court each had two-run doubles for the Riggers while Jason Chatwood added a two-run single.
On the mound, Chad Price started for Red Deer and was roughed up in the second inning, giving up five runs.
Joel Peterman and Dustin Northcott each gave up a pair in their relief appearances before Ben Runyon and Josh Edwards shut down the A's to seal the win.
The Riggers (4-0) are back in action at Great Chief Park this Sunday at 6:30 p.m. vs. St. Albert.
